Bake Off Inspired Cake Off

There are no soggy bottoms to be found at these cakery bakeries…

Hummingbird Bakery

The name and reputation for cakey goodness precedes this place. The Soho branch of this successful mini-chain is the hotspot; with branches also in South Kensington, Notting Hill Spitalfields and Islington. Most customers visit Hummingbird Bakery for the colourful frosted cupcakes and the Rainbow cake is magical! Our favourite? The Mile High Chocolate Salted Caramel cake, which is indeed as big as it sounds. They also cater for corporate events and can deliver directly to your office or clients!

Primrose Bakery

Primrose Bakery‘s flagship store, unsurprisingly in Primrose Hill, has attracted many a cake fiend over the years. Their stand out boozy bakes feature every Friday, combining cake with mixology to create a Cocktail Cupcake flavour. Try a gin and tonic cupcake, old-fashioned cocktail or pear martini cupcake! Animal cake is also popular – see Oreo owl cupcakes and peanut butter spider cookies- perfect for Halloween! Fun and tasty.

Based in Brixton’s atmospheric indoor market, Ms. Cupcake was London’s first entirely vegan bakery. Selling the self-proclaimed ‘naughtiest vegan cakes in town’ (neat tagline) they really are naughty, if naughty means tasty! Order cakes online or pop into their shop and pick up one…or five! Our favourites are the Blueberry Cheesecake, Chocolate Raspberry Coconut, Pumpkin Spice Latte, Rhubarb Custard Crumble cakes. The list is long, but it is too hard to choose! They pride themselves at creating indulgent treats that are the talk of the town. They, too, can brighten the board room with their cake, treats and afternoon tea!

Of course if Selasi fulfills his promise of opening a café, none of these places will get a look in…
