Gin, wonderful gin. It’s one of Britain’s favourite drinks and, even if you’re not a festival person, quick to celebrate just any old thing, we’re sure you’ll get on board with this.
The Gin Festival was founded by gin loving husband and wife who were disappointed with the gin tasting market for not providing more exciting varieties of gin. Over time, it attracted plenty of other gin fanatics, snowballed in size and has since become the largest gin festival there is. It takes place in London, York, Glasgow, Leeds, Manchester, Blackpool, Torquay, Nottingham, Swansea, Bournemouth, Bristol, Ipswich, Newcastle, Gloucester and Stoke-on-Trent. It’s got the whole of the UK involved!
Expect plenty of gin tasting, with more than a hundred gins from all over the world and plenty of distilleries around, eager to show you their gin and what makes it so different and special. Get stuck in with cocktail masterclasses and enjoy your balloon glass which makes a great souvenir of your time at the gin festival! There will also be live music and talks about gin, the drink, the history, the distillery process and more. It will be in London from February the 17th until the 19th but tends to sell out quite quickly so be sure to book your tickets now!
If you miss the ticket sale or need your fill of gin all year round, never fear. Gin Festival has an online shop, selling a variety of gin, tonic and an array of gin-inspired gifts, accessories and merchandise. Though you could certainly just stock up, be sure to check out mugs, glasses and gin flavoured confectionary! Our favourite? There is a gin advent calendar! (Christmas is all about being merry, of course!) If you’d like gin tasting for a party, see here and let us know!
If you have been to a gin festival before or are going to one this year, comment below or contact us on Facebook or Twitter as we’d love to hear all about it!
