When it comes to entertainment, people are more likely to book cinemas, live music or a theatre show over a comedy show. With comedy so regularly enjoyed on our television, we have forgotten the value of seeing it live! Last week, we were kindly invited to see live comedy at the Hippodrome Casino. With post-election drama, we certainly needed a laugh! With a great line up of Adam Kay, Tom Allen and Tiff Stevenson, it was definitely an amusing night!
Based in the back of Hippodrome Casino in the performance room, we made use of the great service with cocktails and beer to kick the night off. Adam Kay, famous for his brutally honest ‘London Underground’ song, opened the show with a song about Donald Trump, setting the unapologetic pace. Tom Allen followed with a wonderful set mocking current trends and was quick on his feet when interacting with the audience. Tiff Stevenson returned us to politics to make light where she could find laughs.
Live comedy is, along with laughing, good for the soul and a great way of spending the evening! Whilst we don’t necessarily recommend you take clients to a show you know will be heavily laced with politics, we do recommend comedy shows as a great way to get a laugh and lift spirits. Enjoy some drinks, favour a few jokes and be confident that any show is sure to bring about conversation starters for post-comedy drinks!
If you’re looking for a laugh and want to break the ice with clients, try comedy at the Hippodrome Casino, set in central London surrounded by plenty to eat, drink and do. More fantastic comedy venues include Soho Comedy Club, The Comedy Store and The 99 Club of Leicester Square, all famous for their rising and already established comedians.
