Foodie Hubs, October

  • POPdown, Cuisson
Honey glazed duck and hazelnuts, with a plum, cucumber and citrus salad

POPdown invited us down to Borough market to taste their sensational Asian fusion flavours, and be a part of their interactive dining experience. They talked us through the six course-tasting menu, and their aim to revolutionise the dining experience. They want to break down the wall between the diners and chefs, encouraging the diners to come up and interact with the chefs, even lending a hand in the cooking and plating process. The menu included ceviche with yuzu, soy and wasabi, pork loin onigiri with pickled cabbage and beansprouts. All ingredients sourced from Borough Market. They largely take corporate private dining experiences, but also have access to a private yacht on the Thames, and a private box in the O2 arena which you can hire while Cuisson provides the bespoke private dining. The worst part is it is only there until December…

Located in the heart of Bankside, in the London borough of Southwark, the Flat Iron Square project consists of a grouping of six railway arches and Devonshire House, a wonderful Grade II listed building. Within this complex will be a variety of food vendors, music/entertainment venues and an acoustic theatre. Think pancakes, all day brunches and interesting bars. This catering caters for the increasing demand for flexibility when it comes to eating good food and enjoying new culturally stimulating entertainment. Due to open 20th October.
