London’s Happiest Borough is…

Few things make Londoners happy. Access to food at any time of the day or night, cheap booze and a friendly Uber driver are a few of things that us Londoners love. But some boroughs have been found to be significantly happier than others.

According to figures released by the Office for National Statistics (ONS), the South-East London borough of Greenwich has been voted the most miserable with Lambeth close behind, Islington third, Harringey fourth followed by Croydon as fifth most unhappy.

If you thought things got a bit grim the further out towards Essex you travel, you were wrong. The borough of Redbridge was revealed last week, as London’s happiest in the report on personal wellbeing across the UK. The survey asked 23,989 people in Great Britain to rate their local area according to 12 ‘happiness factors’, including safety, green spaces, cultural activities and community spirit.

The other boroughs of joy were Richmond-upon-Thames and Newham followed Redbridge!

It should be noted, that the lowest rating Londoners gave on average was 7 out of 10 when asked ‘How would you rate you your day yesterday out of 10’, with 10 being perfect. So in our humble opinion, 7 out of 10 ain’t bad…
