Celebrate the summer solstice with the Royal Academy of Arts on Saturday the 17th of June. RA Summer lates have created an immersive experience you won’t want to miss!
The courtyard transforms into enchanted woodland, complete with trees and foliage. A wander around will reveal plenty of fun tucked in every corner, from maypole dancing to art installations, sculptures and Pagan-related activities. Find the nomadic yurt to step inside the psychedelic temple where neon lights and live DJ’s set the atmosphere to dance, socialise or dabble in life drawing. The immersive atmosphere continues in the night garden where twinkling lights reveal flowers and floral art installations, graffiti, live music and performances, body painting and more.
For a less romantic vibe, the pop-up Pagan cinema will be screening a horror film of The Wicker Man but beware! You’ll be more involved than you think – enjoy an interactive sing-a-long and dance-a-long! Brush up on your Pagan hymns! When your efforts have worked up an appetite, step outside to enjoy the delicious food available from a range of stalls including local favourites Toshka, Nanny Bill’s, Waffle On and Christabel’s to cover your light seasonal dishes, heavy burgers and delightful desserts! You’ll find the floral outdoors theme continues in the botanical cocktails!
Of course, the night will be full of wonder with secrets and treats not yet revealed, such as secret bars, secret performances, unique stalls, glitter makeovers, potions, spells and more! For a truly magical night you won’t forget, book your tickets to The Electric Forest here.
